Hospitalty Academy - Roodepoort - Gauteng

The role of the Academic Head will entail the following;

Leadership and Management of the Academic institution as a business.
Academic experience in terms of student admissions, teaching and learning, progress and examinations.
Knowledge of the regulations, procedures and implementation of all aspects regarding the accreditation of learning material and courses.
Be responsible and accountable for setting and advancing the academic strategy of the Department in line with SAQA, Department of Higher Education, QCTO strategic plans and direction.
Development of new teaching material and programs in order to grow the Academy.
The implementation of marketing initiatives i.e. contact with schools, career exhibitions, opens days, etc. in order to grow the business in conjunction with the Guvon Marketing team.
People Management in regards to students and staff.
Financial Management in regards to budget planning and controls, financial sustainability and general financial management of a business on a day to day basis.
Quality assurance of all Academic programs and systems.
Development of Academic programs and NQ framework.
Be an active member of the Academic Board and contribute to the overall leadership and management of the campus.
Must have at least 5 years’ managerial experience at a tertiary institution.

Must have a formal qualification in hospitality management and/or in business management.

Knowledge of the hospitality sector is crucial.

Must have good academic record and standing.

Must have leadership skills as well as management skills in regards to Academic Institutions.

Must be familiar with all aspects regarding the management of a tertiary institution and be familiar

with the academic disciplines within an academic institution.

Must be familiar with all academic requirements in line with the Department of Higher Education’s strategies and plans.

Must have good communication skills and be able to deal with students as well as staff.

Must have very good business acumen and financial knowledge.

Must have good marketing skills and be able to market the Academy internally as well as externally.

Salary R 50 000.00 – R 60 000.00 neg. as per experience. Live out position.

Medical Aid, pension/provident Fund and uniform as per company policy.
