PURPOSE:

A SFA facilitates learning solutions using a variety of methods e.g. workshops, demonstrations, tutorials, simulations and skills development. They plan and
conduct assessments in line with the school’s Assessment Policy and Procedure and ensure accurate records are kept of delegates achievements. SFA’s
provide academic and on-the-job support to individual delegates or class groups through mentoring and coaching. SFA’s carry out research into current
industry trends and adapt training sessions accordingly.

Essential Requirements:
1. A relevant Level 6 qualification or equivalent;
2. A minimum of 2-3 years relevant, practical industry experience i.e. within the hospitality industry;
3. A minimum of 2 years training / teaching experience;
4. An ability to interact positively with delegates and sponsor properties;
5. An ability to communicate well at all levels;
6. An understanding of all legislation relevant to education and training in South Africa;
7. An appreciation of the hospitality and food service industries;
8. Good presentation skills;
9. A self-motivated individual who shows initiative and can function as a member of a team;
10. Ability to work under pressure, but better still the ability to plan to avoid last minute pressure situations;
11. A high degree of integrity;
12. Competence in MS Office suite

Additional Requirements for Trainers who perform Assessor duties engaged with Further Education and Training (FET) Programmes
13. Registration with ETDP SETA as an Assessor;
14. Scoped by CATHSSETA to assess the National Certificate in Accommodation Services (SAQA ID No: 14110; Level 2); National Certificate in Food and
Beverage Services (SAQA ID No: 14113; Level 4); National Certificate in Professional Cookery (SAQA ID No: 14111; Level 4) and the FET Certificate in
Hospitality Reception (SAQA ID No: 59790; Level 4) – this is an inherent job requirement for all those working with the school’s FET programmes.
