Our client in the automotive sector requires a suitably qualified and experienced Industrial Engineer for their Manufacturing Planning Division

THE JOB ENTAILS:

• Establishing and analyzing all manpower needs for existing and new operations.
• Providing Production with a quality Industrial Engineering service with regard to:
• Optimum operation and machine loading
• Maintaining an accurate standards base
• Assistance in reducing off-standard performances
• Performing Industrial Engineering-related activities i.e. work measurement and method studies
• Assisting Process Engineering in providing Production with optimum workplace layouts which conform to requirements
• Initiate the acquisition of the required tools, facilities and jigs required to assist manufacturing in making these changes (through Purchasing, Plant Engineering and Project Planning)
• Test and assist with commissioning of new tools, facilities and jigs
• Attend to and if needed design and have tools, facilities and jigs prepared and purchased for Production (Appropriation, Requisitions, etc.)
• Investigating process-related problems and recommending and implementing improvements to ensure smooth operation of all processes
• Conducting capacity studies for future planning strategies
• Evaluating facilities and services in order to upgrade where necessary
• Be flexible within Industrial Engineering to assist in problem areas, if required

THE SUITABLE CANDIDATE SHOULD:

• Have a degree or diploma in Industrial Engineering
• Preference will be given to employees with a minimum of 2 years Production experience
• Be computer literate, Microsoft Office Package (Excel advanced & PowerPoint advanced).
• Be analytical
• Pro-active in terms of problem solving
• Have basic engineering design knowledge
• Be familiar with continuous improvement processes
• Have the ability to communicate well at all levels
