Position Summary:
The Infrastructure System Administrator will conduct ICT data centre operations to ensure the availability, accessibility and utilisation of services to infrastructure in line with the business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Implement operational changes to the ICT infrastructure and applications to ensure proper compliance with release authorisation.
• Conduct back office administration to ensure proper server / service monitoring and administration of backups and job schedules.
• Monitor and report on services / systems availability and capacity thresholds of the ICT infrastructure to ensure availability and accessibility of ICT infrastructure.
• Conduct maintenance of the data centre to ensure availability and accessibility of ICT infrastructure.
• Respond to data centre service outage and other problems to ensure speedy resolution.
• Provide support services to internal ICT clients to ensure speedy resolution of incidents.
• Adhere to ICT standards, procedures and best practices required to ensure the availability, accessibility and utilisation of infrastructure in line with the business needs.
Qualifications, skills and experience:
• A relevant technical diploma and / or CNE certification with at least three years relevant IT experience.
• Working knowledge and experience of Linux environments will be an advantage.
• Working technical knowledge of the relevant networks, database, server, applications and desktop disciplines
• Sound verbal and written communication skills.
