Looking for an Intermediate Tour Consultant for an inbound tour company.

At least 3-5 years’ similar experience required.
Salary: R8 000 – R10 000

• Understanding company quoting systems and other travel-related programmes
• Have good product knowledge and sound geographical knowledge of Southern Africa
• Time management: ability to prioritize, plan and meet deadlines
• Effective communication – internally as well as externally
• Be professional and offer high service levels at all times
• Ability to handle pressure and volume – multitasked
• Emergency phone duty
• Do various quotations with help from senior consultant
• Operate Tourplan/Travelogic or any other quoting systems
• Obtain and where possible negotiate rates
• Ensure these rates are sent to be loaded
• Use preferred suppliers
• Visit the preferred suppliers and get to know the products
• Put in place and manage provisional bookings
• Run all aspects of tours within budget
• Ensure agent’s information and tour information correspond
• Be able to sell travel insurance, car rentals, flight bookings, prepare travel & information packs, guide & driver manuals, etc.
• Assist with the handling of complaints by gathering feedback from suppliers, guides, etc.
• Assist with management and training of junior consultants
• Set up system for keeping rates
• Be on constant look out for new venues and activities – advise team & rest of office
• Take responsibility for all aspects of tours being run
• Doing Budget & Actual’s & all accounting side of things
• Meet given targets
