The Site IR Manager will be responsible for ALL site related industrial relations and that they comply with all relevant legislation.

Responsibilities:
Lean Management:
Participate in Company Lean Management Programme and establish best practice for development.
Carry out a thorough review of all processes and procedures currently being used by the Company and review where improvements could be made to increase efficiency.

Industrial Relations:
Liaise and or meet with employees and or their representatives (including Trade Unions) in order to foster and maintain or where necessary regain industrial harmony, and or give effect to and comply with all relevant labour legislation, determinations and awards.
Assist directors and managers in the application of the company disciplinary and grievance procedures.
Represent the company in external dispute resolution proceedings such as in the CCMA, or the MEIBC and or where necessary brief representatives from the legal profession to represent the company in such proceedings and or in the Labour Court.
Maintain conditions of employment according to MEIBC regulated sites, Project Labour agreement sites (Medupi Power Station) and BCEA sites.
Coordinate and attend monthly in-house shop steward meetings.
Attend weekly IR meeting with client.
Coordinate and attend all CDR cases.

Disciplinary Procedures:
Apply discipline as per the requirements of the PLA/PA/SSA.

Reporting:
Submit all IR reports to the head office and client.
Monitor site absenteeism.
Facilitate working and exemption hours.
Coordinate all HR audits.

Employment Equity and Skills Development:
Coordinate all employment equity and skills development meetings.

Skills Development:
Identity training/skills/competency needs within the organisation and advise company HR Manager.
Identify skills shortage and where there is need to improve and inform the site manager.

General Personnel Administration:
Manage the IR Department and supervise and assist employees in the department.
Ensure all information is readily available in all personnel files.

Recruitment:
Assist site manager with all blue collared employee recruitment.

Requirements:
3 year Degree relevant to Personnel/Human resources.
Additional course in Strategic Management, Labour Relations Management would be an added advantage.
A working knowledge of the various acts that make up South African Labour legislation.
A working knowledge of the MEIBC conditions of employment.
A working knowledge of MS Office, including MS Word and MS Excel.
A working knowledge of the Medupi Partnership Agreement would be an added advantage.
3 of more years of Industrial Relations Officer experience is essential.?
