An exceptional opportunity awaits a dynamic individual with the right qualifications and experience to direct and manage computing and information technology strategic plans, policies, programs and schedules for the business and finance data processing, computer services, network communications, and management information services to accomplish corporate goals and objective.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop the Information Technology (IT) strategy based on the corporate strategic plan for the company.
Consult with relevant role players and set appropriate short, medium and long term plans for the unit.
Assist the business in all phases of development and implementation of company IT System.
Manage the development of software solutions within the agreed time frame and budgetary limits.
Manage the maintenance of the developed software and its related software difficulties within the agreed timeframe.
Implement and manage the quality assurance & systems testing procedures.
Manage the function and portfolio of Business Analysis; Co-ordinate and manage a comprehensive Solutions Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology that governs software development.
Define IT policies and strategies based on future expectations and historical trends to ensure that Ithala’s investment exposure in technology is managed.
Identify the risks of implementing new systems and to manage and control the risks at the company.
Contribute towards the introduction of control systems and procedures.
Co-ordinate Research and Development to facilitate the efficient utilisation of Information Technology within the company.
Respond to Audit recommendations as agreed within management.
Regular review of IT governance framework and make recommendations to the business and the board.
Manage the conducting of assessments of the service providers to Ithala in order to establish the problem areas and recommend improvements where required.
Negotiate Service Level Agreements with the various vendors / service providers of products to ensure that the best service at the best cost is received.
Keep abreast of the latest technology and where appropriate ensure the Ithala Limited IT systems are updated.
Collect, generate summarise and disseminate information regarding the administration of security and general administration of the IT infrastructure.
Report to various committees and provide information regarding IT trends and the latest technology for effective and efficient management decision making.
Co-ordinate, control and report on budget inputs and variances meeting agreed deadlines.
Manage the IT capital expenditure and ensure that the technology deployed is in keeping with the latest trends.
Perform people management functions, including but not limited to:-

Qualifications:

The following minimum requirements must be met in order to be considered for this position:

• A post graduate tertiary qualification in commerce/ banking or related field.
• Master’s degree will be an advantage.
• Minimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years’ experience in a senior-level information technology position
• A proven record of a successful career in IT Management.
• Experience with implementation of information technology integrations in a large division/company.
• Understanding of IT Strategy Development and Enterprise Architecture design processes.
• Extensive experience in the IT strategy implementations.
• Strong understanding of IT governance concepts as per King 3 principles.
• Understanding of regulatory and compliance issues in the financial sector.
• Must be assertive and complemented with good communication skills at all levels.
• Willingness to travel and work additional and /or non-standard hours when required.
• An intimate understanding of Ithala as an organisation together with an appreciation of its
strategic objectives, policies and procedures.
