Junior Consultant

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work for a Venture Capitalist firm; we urgently need the services of a young leader to work with the Founder to drive strategic projects.

You'll be helping to drive strategic projects that accelerate the growth of some of Africa's most exciting Internet startups. The role will require you to work with teams across the continent to understand opportunities, analyse and determine the way forward, and then work to ensure implementation success. This is the perfect position for a young, ambitious graduate looking for exposure to management in a high-impact environment. Operational improvement and strategic choices for existing businesses will be the main focus area, but the role will include exposure to investment decisions and deal-making.

Responsibilities:
• Reporting to and working closely with Founder and co-MD, assisting with strategic projects across the group, relating to Internet startups and technology
• Collaboratively identifying business and performance improvement opportunities
• Business analytics and process optimisation
• Data analytics and reporting
• Business case submissions and investment planning
• Project management, execution and implementation
• Presentating analytic findings and strategic recommendations, prepared and delivered via email, group meetings, and/or conference calls
• Industry research

Position requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree
• 1 years experience in a management consulting, business analyst, data analyst or project management role
• Strong Data Analysis and Business Analysis skill set, including strong knowledge of Excel
• Have a passion for online startup industry and new economy businesses
• Open (and excited) about occasional travel to Cape Town and major business cities in the rest of the continent
• Strong pluses: Experience with relevant data analytical tools, e.g., SQL; online/ecommerce/digital marketing exposure

Salary: From R20,000 TCT monthly upwards, experience dependent
Based: Sandton, Johannesburg
