JUNIOR DESKTOP ENGINEER – MONTAGUE GARDENS– IT DISTRIBUTION

This role is to support and maintain in-house computer systems, desktops, peripherals and IT assets. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all hardware and equipment while ensuring optimal workstation performance. The person will also troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training and assistance where required.

Job requirements:
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) Windows 2003/8
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) Windows 2003/8 (essential)
College diploma or university degree (essential)
Microsoft MCSE 2003 / 2008 (essential)
Microsoft Office Automation experience (essential)
1 - 3 years equivalent work experience.


Duties:
Manage calls logged with Helpdesk.
Ensure that calls are closed within the SLA times.
Update all calls on a daily basis. This is to inform the business of the status of their calls.
Ensure that the answers to unusual problems are saved in the helpdesk’s knowledgebase.
Communicate and interact closely with the Helpdesk
Reports to the Desktop Supervisor
Provide feedback about status of: Open calls and Current projects
Identify issues that the system is experiencing and provide solutions
System performance
Ensure that databases are fully optimized
Ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories.
Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides.
Ability to conduct research into PC issues and products as required.
Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
