Position Description Overview: Responsible for assisting with Toll System Maintenance on a specific toll plaza to become a Senior Maintenance Toll Technician.
Roles and Responsibilities
Reduce departmental and Company overheads and/or expenses
Ensuring that there are no penalties awarded due to Maintenance Issues
Delivering Client-acceptable Maintenance, on time and within budget
Reducing overtime/additional payments to Maintenance Staff
Cost-cutting by ensuring responsible use of tools and new equipment by Maintenance Teams
Ensure efficient spares management; and
Delivery to provided deadlines.

Proper maintenance on AVC software and hardware:
a AVC Area
b Loops
c Treadles; and
d Sensors.

Proper maintenance on Lane Controller Software and Hardware on all lane devices:
a Receipt Printer
b Swipe Card Reader
c Traffic light
d Patron Fare Display
e CCTV, Frame Grabber, VGS, DVR and QLS Cameras
f Entry / exit Booms
g TCT
h Intercom System
i ETC beacon and OHLS
j Any other EFKON Toll hardware

Proper maintenance on:
a MIS
b Frame Grabber and or VGS, DVR and QLS Systems hardware; LSDU; and
c DCS.

Daily, weekly, monthly checklists and reports
Assisting with the Regular Site Inspections and Inspection Reports
Ensuring delivery of effective maintenance within the scales agreed with client on Hardware
Implementation, maintenance and use of the Hard Cat Asset Management and Helpdesk system
Display of Good Work Ethic
Adherence to and Procedures
Enhancement of EFKON’ image and brand
Display of Initiative (also in respect of steps taken to meet deadlines/perform tasks as expected)
Management style - communication, discipline, support to staff, conflict resolution, planning of staff duties, administrative duties
Own work habits – amount of work, accuracy, handling of difficult situations, ability to work under pressure, assertiveness, assuming responsibility, decision making skills, independent work, commitment, problem resolution skills

Ensure preventative hardware maintenance.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
NQF4 or equivalent; and
Experience in hardware (electrical and electronics) an advantage.

Extensive knowledge of Hardware installed and used by EFKON System
Extensive electrical and electronics knowledge
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft and Windows

Willingness to learn the EFKON System with the objective to become a successful Senior Toll Technician.
