Junior Product Analyst: Group Risk Pricing

• Screen and analyse new and existing business pricing requests:
- Analyse and format data received from broker
• Gather, assess and analyse all relevant information needed to:
- Provide a new business cover proposal
- Review existing business premium rates and terms and conditions
• Prepare quality cover proposal documents for both existing and new business (including program runs to determine rates) which are accurate and timeous:
• Compile, monitor and analyse claims experience for new and existing business
• Assess and calculate the risk rate, free cover limits and underwriting requirements for the products requested utilising the current pricing tools.
• Provide feedback to Product Development on current benefits and opportunities
• Determining suitable terms and conditions so that the risk can be managed.
• Consider wider topics of risk management such as occupational and industry risks.
• Identify and solve problems within the business environment
• Liaise with clients (both external and internal) on rates, products, tenders, revision and other risk issues
• Collaborate with reinsures for benefit rates on a treaty - and facultative arrangement basis
• Assist with ad-hoc projects and miscellaneous queries
• Meet deadlines set
• Retrieve data from administration systems
• Assist new recruits in up-skilling
Knowledge, Experience and Skills
• Matric and a tertiary qualification will be an advantage
• 1 year group risk experience
• Data management skills
• Advanced MS-Office, Excel and Word
• Analytical thinking (including problem identification and problem analysis).
• Attention to detail
• Excellent people skills
• Be able to work well independently and within a team
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Quality and service oriented.
• Planning & organising, time management, flexibility and adaptability
• Self-management and accountability
• Act with integrity
