Junior Project Manager - Banking Sector
My Client based in Pretoria is looking for Junior Project Manager in the Banking Sector to join their team ASAP!
Customer liaison and account management
Act as single point of contact for a customer during a project
Understand existing as well as future requirements
Be aware of, and manage customer concerns
Keep customer informed
Understand customer organisational structure and changes
Build trust relationships with decision makers at all levels in customer organisation
Generation of proposals/quotations
Work with the customer, system analyst and business analyst to ensure that requirements are understood, documented and clear
Work with the customer, system analyst and business analyst to ensure that a high level design is done and signed off by the customer
Generate work breakdown structure in consultation with the system analyst
Generate project costing schedules in consultation with the system analyst
Generate and maintain project schedules (Gantt charts)
Generate proposal/quote
Obtain customer acceptance
Planning, organizing and management of projects
Define and manage project scope
Refine and manage work breakdown structure
Manage project schedule
Document all communication with customer and contractors, as well as internal communications amongst project team members
Manage and report on project progress
User acceptance
Ensure that invoices are generated and follow up on non-payments if referred back from Finance
Identify and manage project risks
Ensure quality product delivered within time and budget
Challenges
To map the customer’s understanding of requirements and deliverables onto the project team members’ understanding
To manage customer expectations in terms of deliverables, timescales, deadlines and costs within constraints of limited resources and uncertainty in effort estimation
To understand Emid’s product set and services offering sufficiently to be able to interpret and guide customer requirements effectively

BANKING BACKGROUND COMPULSORY
Formal qualification in engineering, computer science, information systems, or equivalent degree/diploma
Formal Project Management training. PMI accreditation and/or Project management certification such as Prince II.
At least 3 years experience in project management on software development projects
Previous banking experience would be an advantage
Salary: R30 000 - R40 000
