Junior Solid Edge Designer / CMM Operator
Our client is requiring a Junior Solid Edge Designer / CMM Operator. This is a junior position that would suit a recently qualified Toolmaker or young Engineer with an N or S qualification who enjoys a Toolroom environment, or someone who has Toolroom exposure and has strong design capabilities
Solid Edge experience essential
Junior (Solid Edge) Designer/CMM Operator
Measure and check relevant parts using the Computerised Measuring Machine (CMM).
Design component drawings and moulds on Solid edge.
Design (using Solid Edge), mainly with small parts that have been measured on the CMM (reverse engineering).
Measure and record sizes of products and compare to product drawings.
Control what goes into the quarantine cage.
Complete non-conformances as required.
Review mould drawing designs from other designers (QC check).
Communicate with Designers regarding designs and recommend changes where applicable.
Complete Initial sample inspection reports (ISIR) on components produced, compare to signed product drawings
Carry out refurbishments/improvements to existing moulds when necessary.
Maintain machines and measuring equipment (clean and functioning efficiently).
Trade Tested Toolmaker/Tool, Jig and Die Maker an advantage but not essential
Solid Edge/Solid Works design drawing experience essential
