Junior Solutions Engineer – Centurion

Description: Identify improvement opportunities in warehousing & production logistics operations & implementing initiatives. The successful candidate will be required to interact with & assist solution design engineers & project managers on design & implementation projects.

Minimum Requirements:
• Grade 12 / Standard 10 Certificate
• BEng / BSc in Industrial Engineering ONLY
• Advanced: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• AutoCad, MS Visio, MS Project, WMS, ERP Systems.
• Minimum 1 year Industrial Engineering experience within a logistics environment (eg. In Service training)
• Own vehicle with a valid driver's license and able to travel both nationally and internationally.
• Proven track record in customer relations.
• Sound knowledge of engineering economics and fundamental accounting principles.

Duties:
• Planning of warehouse and production facilities, applying tools and methods like (but not limited to):
o Material flow mapping;
o Layout design;
o Qualitative flow measurement;
o Manning requirements calculations;
o Material handling equipment selection;
o Storage density calculations;
o Time studies;
o Work sampling;
o Value stream mapping.
• Assists in the development and documentation of proposals, response to tenders, RFQs and RFPs.
• Evaluates and analyzes data, processes and material flow.
• Implements initiatives and monitor quantitative benefits of changes.
• Develops business cases for financial investments where required, including ROI calculations, quantified value, productivity improvements.
• Documents, monitors and communicates project timelines, milestones and objectives (project management principles).
