Key Account Manager: Freight – Johannesburg
Salary: R47-54k CTC Per Month


Purpose of Position:

To build and maintain a business partnership with our customers.

Minimum Requirements:
• Matric; B.Com Logistics/Supply Chain Management/Relevant years experience in the industry with on the job training.
• MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Minimum of 5 years freight forwarding experience, including 2 years client facing experience.
• Must have financial experience eg. Rates and Debtors.
• Flexible to work overtime and after hours.
• Must have own reliable transport with a valid drivers license.
• Understanding of accounts and international freight forwarding.
• PSS/Lions/Similar sales training.
• Rate increase experience.
• Administration course or experience.
• Risk experience; Health, safety and environment training.
• Presentation Experience.

Duties:
• To build and maintain a business partnership with our customers.
• Compiling of overall strategy for the client (s).
• Draw up and deploy business plan for the client (s).
• Managing the client according to the stages in a client life cycle.
• Travelling to countries to meet the client face to face when necessary.
• Ensuring the Executive Sponsor relationship is maintained with your client sponsor & the client.
• Creating and maintaining the client information pack.
• Manage the opening of accounts process.
• Be accountable for the contract negotiations process, understanding & mitigating the risk identified.
• Presenting to and implementing new products, processes and strategies with client (s).
• Management of shipments on a daily basis.
• Quality checking estimates and ensuring they are submitted on time.
• Compile client specific business reports and quality checking data integrity.
• Identify Opportunities for growth within the client’s business.
• Record client account status on FOCSLE.
• Manage service level agreements through reporting and reviews including identifying exceptions and corrective actions.
• Facilitate rate negotiations and increases.
• Arrange and control war room processes for clients.
• Identify and report on quantified value for clients.
• Take meeting minutes and follow through to close out.
• Manage client debtors to keep within the agreed payment terms & resolve queries in days sales outstanding.
• Ensure standard operating procedures are documented and maintained.
• Ensure company complies with client health, safety and environment requirements.
• Compile monthly revenue reports.
• Facilitate client logistics training.
