RedCat Recruitment is urgently seeking a LABORATORY ASSISTANT or a well-established company – position based in Richmond (30 minutes outside of Pietermaritzburg).

JOB DESCRIPTION / REQUIREMENTS
Grade 12.
Preferably have driver’s license and own reliable transport.
Strong computer skills (MS Office, Email / Internet).
Post matric qualification in Analytical Chemistry or similar a strong advantage.
2yrs+ work experience, preferably in a laboratory environment.
Assist the team and the laboratory by carrying out technical operations consisting in handling simple experiments and protocols.
Conduct and apply straightforward protocols independently to assist the team and the laboratory in their work - measure stability of formulation batches, proceed to easy formulation batches.
Contribute to ensuring optimal safety and quality conditions (upkeep of equipment, etc).
Communicate raw results.
Participate in compiling the laboratory notebook in line with protocols.
Help manage laboratory inventories (supplies, orders, consumables or raw materials, raw materials inventory etc).
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality procedures in force in the laboratory (conduct shipments).
