Laboratory Manager
Belgravia (Johannesburg)
Salary: R 40,000 neg.
Purpose of position:
Accountable for all samples tested, informing functional contacts of non-compliances or deviation form specifications or standards. Generate formal lab test reports, monitor general, electrical, dimensional, mechanical and chemical tests as prescribed. Ensure lab is properly equipped; ensure raw materials are tested according to latest procedures. Compile product sampling instructions and Lab test plans. Adhere to work instructions, test methods, procedures, specifications and special requests. Control specifications issued. Drive and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Forecast and plan annual budgets, monthly budgets. Ensure compliance to all aspects of SHERQ. Assist auditors during auditing process. Improve health & safety issues. Ensure effective utilisation of personnel resources. Guide, motivate, mentor and coach subordinates.

Minimum requirements:
SA citizen
Matric
Diploma OR Degree with Science as a Subject (Polymer or Material Sciences)
Quality Assurance Certificate
8 year experience in Cable / Plastic Compounding plant which 5 years must be in a Senior Laboratory position.
Knowledge and Understanding of relevant National and International Standards
