Leading explosives manufacturer is looking for a Laboratory Supervisor to implement the planning and management of various routing testingâ??s, product development tests, product QA tests, plant support, investigations of field complaints and the management of laboratory inventory

Qualifications:

Degree in Chemistry with relevant exp in management of QA control / Analytical laboratories

Comp lit on MS Office and Data Bases

Comp lit

Experience:

Min 3-5 yrs exp in effective analytical laboratory practices

Exp in explosive’s environment

Maintain and develop smooth running of service laboratory

Manage laboratory and staff

Ensure adherence to testing methods

Manage routine laboratory analysis

Technical support to African operations

Cost management

Arrange and manage outsourced analysis

Raw material QA as cost optimisation

Interpret technical test results and writing of technical reports

Recommendations to R&D and QA Manager

Approval authority for internal reports

Develop new products

Manage audits

Compliance to OHSA / Explosives Act and regulations / ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 / OHSA 18001

Continuous development of new test techniques and methods

Liaise with raw materials suppliers / laboratory equipment suppliers as well as internal / external suppliers

Skills:

Valid license

Sober habits

Physically fit and mobile

Must be willing to work overtime and travel to different external stakeholders and also to Africa

Proven analytical  and problem solving skills

Proven written and verbal communication skills

Respond positively to changing requirements and pressures

Communicate with suppliers and customers on all levels

Proven line management skills
