Job Purpose:
• To conduct practicals

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
• National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• At least 2 years working experience in tertiary institution/material testing laboratory
• ECSA registration will be added advantage

Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities:
• Preparation of laboratories for practical sessions (i.e., laying out class material, setting up of equipment and any general preparations for classes/instructions)
• Supervise laboratory practicals in Mechanical Engineering program
• Assist lecturers with practical session
• General Housekeeping, maintenance and coordination of laboratory activities and facilities.
• Order materials and consumables
• Operate materials testing equipment such as Tensile Tester, Charpy/lzod Impact Tester, Hardness Tester etc.
• Administration
• Reporting
• Providing technical support to staff and students
• Enforce laboratory safety and standards

Competencies:
• Conversant with testing standards e.g. ASTM
