My client is a specialist wealth managerial company established more than 20 years ago - with solutions of Asset Management; Investment Management; Fiduciary; Risk; Online Securities; Foreign Exchange and Offshore. Their clientele has preferential access to the finest global investment specialists
Duties Include:
• Legal support to LISP client services team and to financial advisors on legal and tax aspects of products and services
• Legal support to financial advisors on financial planning related matters
• Legal support to the management board of preservation and retirement annuity funds and directors of linked long-term insurer and LISP
• Advice on compliance with the Long-term Insurance Act, FAIS, FICA, the Pension Funds Act and other relevant legislation
• Drafting and/or vetting of contracts
• Drafting and/or vetting of client documentation
• Legal input into new product development, including the drafting of product documentation
• General interaction and liaison with the FSB
• Dealing with tax issues relating to various products (specialist tax knowledge is not required)
• Training on products, processes and relevant legislation
• Legal input regarding operational business processes
Requirements:
• Matric
• Clear criminal record
• Clear ITC
• LLB or equivalent qualification
• Admission as an attorney
• Relevant post graduate and/or CFP qualification would be advantageous
• Individuals who are not admitted attorneys may be considered if they have sufficient relevant industry experience
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in LISP, long-term insurance and/or investment management industries
• Retirement fund related experience
• Knowledge of retail investment products
• Working knowledge of FAIS, FICA, the Pension Funds Act and the Long-term Insurance Act
• Product tax knowledge (in relation to LISP/retail investment products)
• Understanding of TCF requirement
