We are looking for a Legal Credit Controller for a National Company in Cape Town.

Purpose of the position
When a Credit Controller has exhausted all reasonable attempts to recover the outstanding debt, the account is handed over to Legal Collection. Your role as a Legal Credit Controller will be to manage the company’s legal collections process end to end ensuring business outcomes are met in line with prescribed policies and best practice. The effectiveness of a LCC is measured against average debtors’ days for the accounts assigned to the LCC as well as the ability to reach collection targets set by management.

Requirements
A Grade 12 or equivalent NQ 4 certificate
Experience in the legal debt collections process is essential
Applicants are required to have a minimum of 2 years’ credit control experience
Sound knowledge and experience relating to debtors administration
PC literate – intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook
Above average accuracy and attention to detail skills in order to maintain high standards in work output (Detailed Oriented)
Applicants must be self-motivated and comfortable working in a team environment
Ability to reconcile complex accounts, assess and process large volumes of outstanding and unpaid accounts
Deadline driven individual able to perform under high pressure in a fast paced environment
Flexible to adapt to changes in daily routine on short notice
Excellent persuasive and negotiation skills
Excellent written communication skills
Calm, confident manner to handle potentially uncomfortable conversations
An organised and methodical approach
Solution-driven and able to think quickly
Fluent in English
Utilises self-management techniques in order to proactively improve own performance
