Logistics Coordinator (Fixed Term Contract)
Midrand

Our client, an international engineering concern seeks to appoint a Logistics Co-ordinator on a fixed term contract basis for a period of 4 months. The successful incumbent will have a stable track record in general logistics which will include Imports and Export documentation and processes for Africa exports.

Requirements:

• Minimum Grade 12.
• Logistics qualifications will be advantageous.
• Must be available to commence employment with IMMEDIATE effect – no notice period (please do not apply if you have to work in more than a week notice).
• Please note that this is a 4 month FIXED TERM contract only.
• Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in logistics dealing with import and exports.

Responsibilities:

IMPORTS:
• Tracking of all imports/ Export shipments
• Requesting missing vendor invoices for imports
• Requesting pre- clearance if urgent shipments
• Checking that all customs tariffs are listed correctly on vendor invoices/Bill of entry
• Check correct duty/Vat billing amounts
• Checking that freight forwarder billed correct freight amounts.
• Check that all import documentation (including customs release note) has been received to ensure all at hand for customs audits/other audits. Store in safe place.
• Providing correct account number for clearance and VAT/Duty accounts.
ESTIMATION: EXPORT QUOTES:
• Request quotes from Freight forwarders for estimation purposes
• Advice business on appropriate INCOTERMS to sue when preparing estimates
EXPORTS:
• Coordinate certificates of origin when required. Must pay Chamber of Commerce Midrand to ensure certificate is issued.
• Understand requirements/documentation specifically required for Angola/Nigeria for and exports. (exports including Ghana/Mozambique/DRC)
• Request Inacom Licenses/Customer Import license.
• Provided UCR no for each export invoice.
• Arrange SGS inspection and payment to SGS
• Understand the Soncap requirements for Nigeria Completion of the CCVO on Form C16.
• Advice Tax implications and regulations.
• Customs duties and regulations. (Provide customs tariff headings for export.
• Insurance of goods being shipped.
• Tracking of shipped goods either from SSA to country of end user, or direct from supplier country to end user country.
• Follow up with goods stuck at customs to avoid penalties and sell off of equipment.
• Manage Letter of credit Documentation for shipping
• Ensure that Global agreements are implemented with local freight forwarders
• Coordinate awareness sessions for internal customers to get a better understanding of freight forwarding process
• Manage relationship with the different freight forwarders.
