RESPONSIBILITIES:

Handle the Export requirements of shipments from around the world including all related documentation. Includes but not limited to:
Accurate completion of shipping documentation both in-house and with shipping line and forwarding agent requirements
Timely arrangement of bookings, inspections and any other additional requirements as required by client/supplier/country
Ensuring that arrangements for loading including placement of containers occurs timeously – co-ordinate with warehouse, suppliers and traders for loading timeline
Finalize all internal documentation such as Invoices, packing lists, etc.
Handle the Import requirements of shipments to various final destinations. Includes but not limited to:
Timely submission of required documentation for clearing purposes to Agent
Timely arrangement of any special inspection and permit requirements for cargo at point of destination
Ensuring the delivery and return of containers coordinated with final client
All the above done in manner to avoid any additional charges
Estimations of logistics costs - Providing the Traders with total cost expected for the shipment and final delivery to client where applicable. Includes but not limited to:
Updating of costing schedules and systems to ensure accurate costs provided
Sourcing and negotiating rates with shipping lines and agents for collection and shipping(freight) (Export)
Sourcing and negotiating rates for clearing and delivery (Import)
General:
Update and develop templates to ensure ease of processing for all involved
Liaising with Clients regarding their shipping requirements (Documents, Shipping details, delivery etc.)
Handle claims on shipping with Client and Insurance company as and when required
Any other duty that is reasonable and relevant to this position

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
A minimum of 3 years’ logistics experience in international movement cargo internationally Air Freight, Sea Freight, Road Freight and courier express shipments. Shipping experience to SADC countries is preferable
Experience or knowledge of the following bodies and related requirements would be advantageous: PPECB, Bureau Veritas, DAF, State vet (SA), Intertek
Experience or knowledge of the following documents: Certificate of Origin, SONCAP, Phytosanitary, SAD500, Bills of Lading, Import and Export Permits
Shipping knowledge for general, perishable and hazardous cargo
Computer Skills: MS Office (Moderate to Advanced Excel skills mandatory)
Strong communication skills in English (verbal and written). Able to work independently and stick to strict timelines
Reliable, organized and meticulous
Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player
Customer service driven
Able to negotiate with suppliers
