Permanent Managerial role in FMCG

We are seeking the expertise of a Logistics Specialist to join the Supply Chain team of our Internationally renowned client to be responsible for the global retail distribution function.

KEY FOCUS AREAS:
• 3PL management in terms of operational performance
• Work in cross functional teams with production, the DC, procurement and the finance function to improve overall effectiveness
• Operational excellence development and implementation of strategic strategies to improve current ways of working
• Improve and streamline the customer order fulfillment index to ensure customer satisfaction
• Management of suppliers and customers in ensuring that the BU meets the budgets and demands for the year.
• Accountable for production and capacity planning for the business unit in line with sales forecast
• Manage finished goods stock and ensure effective and efficient transportation
• Co-Manage inventories of raw, indirect and packaging materials to define and identify slow and obsolete materials and implement a run-down plan before write-offs becomes necessary
• Provide Finance with accurate stock reporting when necessary
• Optimize the process and execution of materials changes without impact on finished goods price in cooperation with Business Development function.
• Manage the in-transit claim and damages process and related invoicing / credit note requirements
• Ensure compliance with all internal guidelines and external regulations.
• Engage with production Planning and the operations Team to ensure order fulfillment, on time and in full is maximized.
• Oversee demand planning and management processes for new and existing products.
• Manage process in developing production demand forecasts and anticipate customers reactions to the promotions and sales activities where possible
• Work with customers, business development team and supply chain management to improve forecast accuracy.
• Assist in risk assessment and risk mitigation activities.
• Update customers and sales team about product availabilities in terms of shipping information.
• Address supply and demand related queries and issues in a timely manner.
• Identify opportunities to meet customer demands during constrained supply.
• Monitor product export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements.
• Manage order administration process from order receipt to customer order delivery
• Review all retail orders in terms of product, price, logistics costs and ensure system processing is correct and current
• Manage system update with respect to product pricing and new and obsolete product updates

Qualifications and Experience
• Degree qualified with post graduate diploma/degree in Procurement and/or Supply Chain
• 10 – 15 years’ experience in the supply chain/procurement functions with at least three years in leading a team and delivering category/departmental targets.
• Proven Project Management skills.
• Emotional maturity, tenacity and energy
• Analytical Problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication, collaboration and influencing skills to engage with various stakeholders and decision makers is a must.
• Results driven
