Large conference & banqueting venue in Cape Town is looking for a Maintenance Manager to ensure that all technical infrastructure is maintained and renewed as required and to assist with the following duties: To manage the maintenance and infrastructure of the building and groundsIdentification of equipment, services and infrastructure that have to be maintainedDrafting of service and maintenance plans for equipment and servicesPreparing and maintaining a preventative maintenance plan including a budgetManagement of maintenance team consisting of both permanent and contracted staffManagement of maintenance contractors such as: cleaning, lifts, air-conditioning, electrical, plumbing, etcManage the execution of projects for the replacement and upgrade of the building infrastructure, using recognised project management principlesTo manage and coordinate activities of the maintenance department to ensure that objectives are met and proper outcomes achieved thereby achieving greater efficiency and cost controlTo ensure that effective procurement policies, procedures and systems are adhered toRequirements Matric certificateTrade tested artisan: electrical/mechanical (non-negotiable)National Diploma N6 / T3 / S4 electrical/mechanical would be advantageousProject or facilities management degree/diploma would be advantageousProven track record of having successfully managed a maintenance department within the hospitality or events management industry essentialComputer literateKnowledge of ISO: 9001; 14001, 18001; HACCP10 years’ experience in a related job with a minimum of 5 years Management experience
