A Leading Retail Company is looking for a Maintenance Manager, based in the East Rand.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: Maintenance:

• Managing the maintenance department to ensure that legislated requirements are implemented. Support to the general management of logistics and the team.
• Prepare Capex and control maintenance expenditure against budget.
• Negotiate and manage service level agreements with external contractors.
• Manage engineering maintenance workshop facility.
• Ensure routine servicing and repairs of in-house fleet and materials handling equipment - Reach trucks, pallet trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, trailers and trucks Arrange on-road assistance for breakdowns.
• Conduct maintenance and routine service of Distribution Centre building, Facilities and equipment (including refrigeration and emergency generators).
• Conduct regular racking inspections for the entire warehouse.
• Attend to all civil and domestic maintenance requirements Arrange on road assistance for breakdowns

Risk Control:
• Ensure statutory compliance - Implement and audit the Risk Control Program to the Group Standards, (comprising of security, fire defence, motor vehicles, safety, insurance, emergency planning).
• Develop effective systems to monitor and control risk control expenditure Submit monthly risk control report to Senior Management.
• Ensure all safety equipment is regularly checked, tested & maintained Property & Refrigeration maintenance.
• Represent management in the co-ordination and participate in investigations into losses of any nature.

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

• Matric with tertiary qualification in maintenance related trade essential.
• SAP PM knowledge an advantage
• National Diploma in Safety Management or Risk Control and/or SAMTRAC will be advantageous.
• Minimum of five (5) years’ management experience in relevant field.
• Working knowledge of:
o Electrical,
o Water reticulation systems, o Ammonia plants,
o General building and maintenance and
o Transport legislation
• Skills o Commercial negotiation o Project management o Management
o Strong admin and numeracy
