Position: Maintenance Technician (mechanical & electrical)
Location: Duncan Dock - Cape Town
Reporting: Maintenance manager
Type: AA position
Salary: R19 000 – R23 000 p/m neg on experience

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Technical qualification like Mechanical or Electrical engineering
• Completed Grade 12
• Licensed electrician (Completed trade test) or a qualified maintenance technician
• 4 Years+ maintenance technician experience
• Competent in mechanical, electrical and industrial electronics / maintenance
• Hands-on experience in practical mechanics
• Supervisory experience
• Computer skills (MS Office)

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
• Daily management and maintenance of plant and equipment
• Ensure planned maintenance is done
• Maintenance of forklift & reach truck batteries
• Assist with electrical repairs of the refrigeration plant and other materials handling equipment
• Ensure that work environment is maintained in accordance with set health & safety standards
• Minimize errors, damage to products & claims through application of corrective actions
• Responsible for office & administrative duties & handling orders
• Planning & organizing daily activities of maintenance staff
• Building and site maintenance, i.e. painting, plumbing, replacing of window panes
• Any related tasks as allocated by superior

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
• Sound knowledge of electrical maintenance environment
• Knowledge of Health & Safety Act
• Above average ability to adapt to technical hands-on tasks
• Communication skills – written and verbal
• Sound leadership & administrative skills
• Willingness to work in abnormal temperatures
• Willingness to perform standby duties and overtime as required
