MANAGER: COLLECTIONS RISK OPERATIONS

To maximise collections and arrangements on all portfolios by managing the in-bound and out-bound collections processes, as well as, optimizing the dialler in line with the collections and business strategy.

Strategy and Procedures

? Effective execution of approved collection strategies, policies and procedures
? Ensure that a detailed annual review of existing collection strategies is conducted in conjunction with and make recommendations for improvement where necessary
? Effectively execute approved collection strategies, policies and procedures.
? Develop and implement operating plans in line with the overall business strategy and plans.
? Ensure compliance with Risk Operations operating plans, analytical models and tools, and highlight operational risks and controls.
? Ensure adherence to Group policies and procedures
? Set the day-to-day targets for the department and ensure the achievement of collection targets.
? Manage collection activities according to agreed performance measures, including operating plans and expense budgets.
? Present monthly portfolio performance to relevant stakeholders.
? Manage staff members according to HR Best Practice and Policies

Operating Plan

? Develop and implement operating plans in line with the overall business strategy and plans for the early stage collections function
? Ensure compliance with Risk Operations operating plans and highlight operational risks and controls. Proactively take remediation action where necessary

Policies, Procedures and Process

? Ensure adherence to Group policies and procedures approved by the Group Board.
? Continuously seek improvements in collection processes, products and technology and manage the change process when improvements are implemented.

Targets
? Set Collections targets (qualitative & quantitative) and integrate with other FS business areas to achieve service level targets.
? Set the day-to-day targets for the department and ensure the achievement of collection targets


Stakeholder Engagement

? Present monthly portfolio performance to relevant stakeholders including but limited to Group risk committee and EXCO when required. This includes producing accurate and timeous communication reports and analysis on collection results and operational activities across the different credit functions.
? Leverage Group relationships as well as relevant external parties
? Proactively share information and expertise with internal and external stakeholders

Staff and Talent Management

? Manage performance of staff according to Group HR Policies, including
? Set performance standards (Key Performance Areas, Key Performance Indicators)
? Ensure performance measurement s carried out correctly and regularly
? Ensure skill and knowledge gaps are identified
? Ensure training and development plans exist and are followed
? Develop career paths
? Motivating and leading the team

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
? Degree / diploma in credit management or equivalent relevant experience

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
? 3-5 years supervisory experience in a collections environment
