A vacancy has risen for the Manager Configuration Management to come on board and continuously develop, co-ordinate and maintain a result driven configuration management system that effectively manages and controls all company data, and to provide a configuration administrative service.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREA

Responsible for document and Configuration Management:

Provide effective configuration management service on programmes/projects.
Policy making to support the business strategy.
Establish and maintain integrated document management procedures and systems, irrespective of storage medium. Configuration control on electronic data should be addressed as a high priority.
Ensure that all records, documents and information are correctly stored.
Ensure that all records, documents and information are safeguarded by implementing security, archiving and back-up procedures. The information should be accessible for the duration of the products life.
Determine user requirement.

Develop and maintain a knowledge and information framework:

Establish and maintain a knowledge and information management (IM)framework.
Develop an information architecture and plan.
Implement the framework, architecture and plan.
Develop and maintain the repository containing the metadata.

Responsible for contract management and procurement:

Establish and maintain a contract management framework.
Establish and maintain Information Management (IM) procurement framework and process which are aligned with the company procurement framework.
Facilitate the procurement process.
Manage contracts and service level agreements.

Responsible for research:

Undertake the necessary research into IM trends to ensure that company could exploit applicable trends.
Develop business cases to prove value for company regarding new trends.
Develop plans to deploy new trends in company

Line Management:

Planning, budgeting, leading, organizing and controlling the activities of the function.

Provide a configuration administrative service:

Evaluate and manage the effectiveness of the configuration administrative function on a continuous basis against customer and company requirements and implement corrective actions where deficiencies are discovered.

Configuration awareness and training:

Improve services and configuration management by training employees in configuration principles and systems.

Be a resident expert and functional custodian of various configuration systems:

Resident expert. Custodian of functional systems.
Deliver a DTP service.

Provide additional company services:

Provide company registration service.
Provide company courier service.

Provide company library service.

CRITICAL SKILLS

Good knowledge of company business rules/processes.
Two years management experience.
Negotiation skills.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

B.Com/B.Sc/T3 Equivalent.
Five to ten years demonstrated capability of configuration and data management and control systems and processes.
General Management.
Qmuzik courses.
System Engineering.
Must have sound knowledge of ERP systems.
Must understand knowledge management.
