Function: Finance Sub Function: Management Customer Financial Services Reports To: Senior Manager Customer Financial Services

JOB PURPOSE STATEMENT:

  • Manages a local Finance team with responsibility for multiple legal entities in one or more countries. Includes managing defined aspects of financial accounting & record keeping (payroll, treasury, T&E, VAT etc).
  • Ensures on time & correct processing of transactions and preparation & filing of all statutory and fiscal returns, whilst ensuring compliance with local GAAP and fiscal regulations.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: SKILLS REQUIREMENTS;

  • CA (SA)
  • At least 3-5 years in a manager position
  • Experience in a commercial environment, with responsibility for key aspects of complex accounting & control processes including developing & implementing effective work processes, procedures and controls
  • In depth knowledge of fiscal and local statutory accounting requirements within primary assigned country including understanding of how developments/changes in local accounting regulations impact the business & the Finance Function
  • Excellent understanding of how a business is structured, its business objectives, key functions, processes etc.
  • Understanding of the macro business environment of Africa and local statutory accounting requirements & of US GAAP
  • Good leadership skills
  • Fluent in local language(s) including written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of debt management practices, tools and methods and of key measurement indices.
  • Basic knowledge of Corporate & business law
  • Good understanding of Finance and Accounting principles and their impact on invoice receivables systems, processes and reporting
  • Good understanding of budgeting principles with the ability to control costs within agreed parameters
  • Able to identify, evaluate and apply new technologies, work processes
  • Good commercial understanding of how multi-national businesses operate in the international environment
  • Experience of developing & maintaining effective customer focussed relationships whilst achieving defined objectives.
  • Excellent analytical skills with experience of analysing complex situations and of interpreting and applying financial, regulatory and Company rules
