Brief Description
The main purpose of this position is to manage the process of preparing financial reports for the SARB and its two non-currency-producing subsidiaries – the SARB Captive Insurance Company (RF) Limited (SARBCIC) and the Corporation for Public Deposits (CPD) – to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

Detailed Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:

? developing the operational plan for the Financial Reporting Division;
? ensuring the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the operational plan of the division;
? overseeing and managing quality;
? planning and facilitating the delivery of division-specific outputs;
? clarifying roles and responsibilities;
? optimising and managing division resources;
? designing and managing the maintenance of a management information system for consistent and accurate reporting of relevant information to senior management;
? managing and maintaining internal client relationships, including with the subsidiaries of the SARB Group, and ensuring alignment to the strategic sourcing initiatives of the SARB Group;
? leading and participating in stakeholder engagements (internal and external) while displaying the ability to solicit information and to deliver a coherent and convincing message;
? staying current on the developments in one’s own functional area and ensuring application thereof;
? performing and managing the accounting function in accordance with applicable legislation, the Bank’s policies, and relevant accounting standards;
? managing the preparation and submission of tax returns in accordance with applicable legislation;
? developing processes and implementing internal controls to ensure the validity and accuracy of financial results;
? participating, on behalf of the Financial Services Department (FSD), in various task teams and working groups, and liaising with all the departments and subsidiaries of the Bank to ensure that they comply with FSD standards and requirements as well as the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS);
? managing the administrative processes of the division, thereby ensuring effective operations;
? managing the risks in the division;
? instilling good corporate governance principles; and
? managing the performance and development of staff in the division
?
Job Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must have:

? a BCom Hons (Acc),
? a Certificate in the Theory of Accounting (CTA) and
? a CA(SA) qualification; and
? at least seven to nine years of experience in a financial services environment, of which one to two should be in a management position.
