Our client based in Pretoria is looking for a Manager: ICT Application Design & Development to add to their team on a permanent basis

Qualifications/Skills/Experience for the position:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
• 6 years’ relevant IT management experience
• Solid experience of service management, associated methodologies and frameworks and the application thereof Certification in any one of the following is essential:
• Application Development
• COBIT
• ITIL
• Project Management certification (PMP or Prince II)
• Database Management
• SS-F-HR-363 REV07 Advert Template Shared Services: ICT
• Knowledge of continuous improvement processes, process control and enhancement
• Financial management, budgeting, MIS and reporting skills
• People management and leadership skills
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Daily responsibilities will include:
• Plan and resource annual development activities and associated financial implications to facilitate and ensure continuous budget and cost optimisation
• Maintain, support, and upgrade existing systems and applications
• Guide the development team on issues related to the design, development, and deployment of mission-critical information and software systems
• Execute and oversee the testing process with a focus on minimizing defects and rework
• Lead the creation, configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of application environments
• Build a reliable network of vendor partners and utilize them to optimize Application Development services
• Enhance and maintain key stakeholder relationships along with application end-users to ensure that the voice of the customer is represented within ICT Services
• Research emerging application portfolio management methodologies, technologies and trends to inform discipline related improvement initiatives
• Coach, mentor and guide ICT staff on Application Portfolio Life Cycle Management
• Review and enhance ICT standards and procedures as well as best practices in alignment with other ICT departments to enhance added value service delivery
