The incumbent will manage and lead the security team within the Networks and Telephony Department. Special focus will be given to cyber security and participation in the creation of effective cyber security policies. These policies will need to be enforced and monitored.

The ongoing role of monitoring and optimisation of security devices such as firewalls and VPN devices on the perimeter and within the organisation.
The key management areas, in order to contribute to the management of the Network Security Unit:

• Effective and efficient unit’s people management
• Design, implementation and maintenance of the cyber security solutions
• Design, implementation and maintenance of firewall systems architecture
• Design, implementation and maintenance of anti-virus systems architecture
• Design, implementation and maintenance of Intrusion Prevention Systems architecture
• Design, implementation and maintenance of web content filtering architecture
• Design, implementation and maintenance of application control architecture
• Design, implementation and maintenance of Remote Access Architecture (SSL VPN)
• Draft recommendations on new Security products/services

Minimum Requirements:
• National Diploma or Bachelors in IT/Computer Science or equivalent NQF 6
• Recognised vendor certification of firewalls – ie Fortigate
• Experience as a Network Security Engineer/Manager (3 – 5 years in an IT environment (At least 2 years in a Security environment))
• Experience with firewalls and other security technologies
• Good knowledge of TCP/IP networking and Internet protocols
• Project Management Qualification or skills
• Middle Management(5 years)
• Vendor Management (3-5 years)
