The above vacancy exists within DALRO, a copyright licensing agency. The purpose is to manage, monitor and guide the working of the organisation from both an operational and strategic perspective. The ideal candidate would be someone who has completed a post-graduate qualification in Law or Business, and has at least five years relevant experience.

Key performance areas:
• Development and implementation of company strategy, including
- Ensuring company strategy is in line with Group strategy
- Reporting back to the Board
• Revenue growth
• Stakeholder relationship management, including
- Licensees
- Rightsholders
- International affiliates

• Management of day-to-day operations

Minimum Requirements
• Very good understanding of intellectual property law generally, and copyright law specifically
• Superior written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Ability to operate and interact at Executive and Board level
• Ability to scope and manage projects
• Proficiency in budgeting and budget management
• An understanding of the South African publishing industry is highly recommended
• Willingness to travel
• International working experience is recommended
• An interest in theatre, literature and the visual arts would be an advantage
