Maritime company in need of a Skipper to manage and control all aspects of the vessels operation and planning associated with the safe and efficient running of the vessel and crew.
Requirements and competencies:
SAMSA - Fisherman Grade 2 Qualification.
High Seas Command advantage.
Global Maritime Distress and Safety System General Operators certificate (GMDSS) advantage.
Must have a relevant first aid and fire fighting qualification.
Must have knowledge of health and safety practices.
Must have good communication and writing skills.
Must be computer literate.
Be able to work under pressure.
Be able to meet deadlines and motivate people.
Be able to work in a team.
Must have the ability to adapt and respond to change.
Must have determination to meet company goals and objectives.

Responsibilities:
Ensure the safety of vessels and crew.
Ensure navigation safety.
Ensure overall compliance with all regulatory parties.
Monitor and manage voyage planning.
Monitor and manage on board catering.
Monitor and maintain machinery.
Monitoring overall housekeeping.
Maintain budgetary constraints.
Ensure effective communication to relevant parties.
Ensure effective personnel management.
Responsible for all engineering activities inclusive of maintenance on board.
Ensure all machinery and equipment are maintained and kept in good working condition at all times.
Expose individuals to the required level of competence.
Ensure all officers and managers train and mentor staff.
