Meat / Fish / Poultry Trader job offer – Johannesburg & Durban. Protein product sales experience with a reliable Buyer and Seller network is a pre-requisite at this Online Protein Trading Company.


A proven sales track record and strong protein industry knowledge and networks at decision maker level will be required for this exciting and financially rewarding trading position.


The following criteria will be considered for an interview request.


Minimum Requirements: 



  • Fully Bilingual (Afrikaans & English)

  • Must have a minimum of 2-4 years trading experience within the same industry (wholesale market focssed)

  • Have vast product knowledge

  • Strong client contacts/network base that will compliment this role

  • Be a self motivated, driven, pro-active, detail orientated, persuasive negotiator

  • Able to form part of a team and contribute with a positive, optimistic and service orientated approach

  • Be professional within overall mannerism and presentation

  • Able to work independently

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships

  • Able to prioritize and work under pressure

  • Must be prepared to travel within all areas in Southern Africa

  • Reside in Gauteng and able to operate fully from own home  environment

  • Have own transport and valid driver’s licence


Key performance areas will include but not be limited to the following 



  • New business development focus will entail the Sales and Marketing of available Sellers stock

  • Able to negotiate best prices of stock for new potential and existing clients

  • Ensure active involvement by assisting clients in all aspects of online buying and selling process, including stock inventories and the logistics process involved

  • Achieve challenging sign on, trading and utilisation targets whilst managing, supporting and improving customer satisfaction

  • Manage all weekly/monthly external client meeting requirements through structured time and territory management planning

  • Manage all aspects of clients service level agreements

  • Grow and retain high value and niche client portfolio  through professional relationship building methods and strategies

  • Identify additional new business opportunities/lead referrals within existing client portfolio

  • Ensure consistent and quick turnaround query resolutions

  • Ongoing presentation and feedback/updates to clients

  • Display a pro-active approach when it comes to internal relationship building with colleagues and customer service centres across the group

  • Ensure achievement of challenging monthly targets

  • Report directly to the General Manager on all activities and achievements

  • R15 – 25 000 pm CTC; (negotiable depending proven track record, expertise, knowledge and sales experience) RA and Group Life and Medical Aid cover will form part of CTC Offer and will be mandatory
