OVERVIEW
Mechanical Engineer opportunity in Sandton with an international Engineering and Design Company in their Buildings Practice Division. Must have a degree, be qualified and experienced. Working towards professional registration. Design mechanical services, which ensure the comfort, health and well-being of the occupants who will use a building. The aim to produce buildings that not only function well but also to achieve energy efficiency with minimal environmental impact.

REQUIREMENTS
• Degree and qualified
• 2 years experience
• Working towards professional registration
• Current track record in mechanical design and up to date experience of Quality Assurance standards
• Able to demonstrate strong design ability and engineering skills and knowledge
• Proven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment
• Able to quickly develop successful client relationships
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines is essential
• Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills
• Excellent communications skills (both written and verbal)
• Highly motivated and willing to take on new challenges

ROLE
• Hands on mechanical design for a range of projects
• Providing system design calculations and preparation and review of drawings
• Project and team administration duties
• Producing project related correspondence and reports
• Working directly with clients and other professionals with minimal supervision
• Co-ordinating work with engineers of other disciplines
• Undertaking mechanical design elements for major projects
• Work closely with principal designers to lead Building Services Design
• Managing the production of drawings and reports and preparing co-ordinating mechanical specifications
• Supervising and co-ordinating the work of others and co-ordinating work with engineers of other disciplines
• Attending meetings and communicating with clients to establish their needs
• Manage project team to ensure production of deliverables to agreed timelines and within budget
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior members of the team
