Our Client within the FMCG Industry requires a Mechanical Engineer in Richards Bay.

Mechanical Engineer

Purpose of the position:

• Implement optimal asset management strategy to achieve safe and reliable plant operation

Specific Experience:

• 5 years’ experience as a Mechanical Engineer in a heavy industry environment.
• 3 years experience in a supervisory position
• Experience within the Pulp & Paper industry will be beneficial

Qualifications & Expertise:

• BSc Mechanical Engineering Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with BTech.  
• Government Certificate of Competency is advantageous.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer with ECSA will be preferable.

Functional Outputs:

• Lead maintenance team, including condition monitoring
• Responsible for legal compliance
• Maintain updated equipment long term plan and risk register
• Optimise maintenance strategies on equipment/process level
• Root cause failure analysis and closeout
• Compile and manage annual budget
• Set goals and achieve Maintenance KPIs;
• Manage SAP maintenance system and compliance to business processes
• Short term planning as well as planning for the annual shut;
• Responsible for safety, health and environmental issues, including incident investigations;
• Personnel development and assessment
• Accurate reporting

General:

• Must have track record of shutdown and project management.
• Understanding of maintenance principals and strategies is essential.
