URGENT POSITION - Mechanical Maintenance Foreman needed in Parow Industria Area to do the following:

Plant Maintenance: Understand plant objectives and how these impact on plant performance on a daily and weekly basis i.e. availability, reliability etc.
Ensure smooth and efficient maintenance operation of Cape Town factory.
Lead investigations to failures and identify root causes to prevent failure reoccurrence.
Create maintenance standards through SMPs, SOPs and detailed job cards to ensure efficient plant operation.
Identify improvements in the process that could be made by modifying or replacing plant equipment and bring it to the attention of management.
To inform plant management of all situations or conditions that could result in downtime and to take necessary remedial action to minimise downtime as a result thereof.
Play an active role in plant improvement projects by leading PM and FI projects.
Drafting, Laying Out, and Specifying Technical Devices, Parts, and Equipment. Providing documentation, detailed instructions, drawings, or specifications to tell others about how devices, parts, equipment, or structures are to be fabricated, constructed, assembled, modified, maintained or used.
Handling contractors, service providers for work done or service rendered on plant machinery and negotiate in the company’s interest with them for fare pricing. Ensure they are given proper specifications and that they deliver quality work first time.
Maintain a high standard of discipline and adherence to company procedures and required safety standards.
Ensure that both he and his subordinates obey safety regulations and observe safety precautions as laid down in the Machinery and Occupational Safety Act.
Prepare Capex applications for improvement projects.
Uphold technical integrity of the maintenance department as a whole.
Perform other tasks as specified by the Mechanical Engineer.

MINIMUM Requirements:
Minimum level of N.T.C 3 with valid trade test in Fitting or Boiler making.
National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Desirable.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a 24 hour automated manufacturing plant (Mechanical Maintenance).
WCM, Lean Manufacturing, TPM or equivalent experience and 5S.
Proven root cause analysis experience.
Minimum 3 years’ supervisory experience.
Experience in building maintenance.
Experience in managing of stores and critical spares.
Experience in Maintaining Burners / Drying Equipment beneficial.
Be able to interact and communicate effectively on all levels, including written communication (report writing).
