RedCat Recruitment is urgently seeking a suitably qualified and experienced MECHANICAL PROJECT MANAGER (12 MONTH CONTRACT) for a large national concern – position based in Durban.

REQUIREMENTS
Grade 12 (Grade 12 Maths).
Code 08 driver’s license.
Strong computer skills (MS Office, Email / Internet).
Mechanical/Electrical (or relevant) Degree/Diploma.
Project management Diploma.
Minimum 3 years’ experience managing projects within the petro-chemical industry.
Manage and oversee Sustaining Capex projects of various sizes and complexity.
Analyse customer design proposals and specifications to determine cost effective solutions.
Perform quality checks on work carried out by contractors.
Lead a project team to ensure technical accuracy of project deliverables.
Manage a team to ensure cost effective, safe and timely completion of projects to meet or exceed client expectations.
Manage project activities throughout lifecycle, including the allocation of adequate resources, documentation and other factors necessary for success.
Manage EPCM consultants and company objectives through the project lifecycle.
Work with internal customers to achieve successful delivery of projects.
Prepare and review specification and concept reports.
Provide mentoring to technical staff, assigning duties as required.
Ensure adequate front-end loading of projects according to company’s standard.
Manage project schedules, costs, resourcing and all other applicable KPI.
Prepare and present project reports at predefined intervals.
