Key performance areas:

Perform HIV-1 Serology-based testing including Western blots
Perform HIV Viral load testing
Perform required administration for all aspects of testing
Perform Laboratory quality management
Validation of all technologies and appropriate standard for accreditation

Required minimum education and training:
National Diploma in Biomedical Technology Medical Technology/BTech or BSc (Honours)

Required minimum work experience:
2 -5 years’ post-qualification working experience

Professional body registration (Essential):
Registration with HPCSA as a Medical Technologist

Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities:
Experience in both theoretical and practical aspects in fields of Virology/Microbiology
Experience in GLP/accreditation procedures essential
Computer skills (Word, Excel, Laboratory Information essential)
Skilled in laboratory techniques and in particular ELISA’s and Western blots, Molecular Diagnostics
Good administrative and communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and good attention to detail
