Microbiologist

An FMCG Company requires a Microbiologist for a Contract Role.
Description
To ensure that all products and materials conform to relevant quality standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Matric – Maths, Science & Biology
Degree / Technical diploma in Food Technology/Biotechnology, Microbiology

EXPERIENCE:
1 year experience as a Microbiologist in a food production environment
Basic Computer Literacy

TRAINING PERIOD FOR BASIC COMPETENCE:
3 months

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Check that plant and equipment is kept clean and hygienic
Check that instrumentation and machinery are working to requirements
Testing of raw materials
Monitors the company’s safety and housekeeping standards
Recording of quality and process control values, and instituting corrective actions when necessary
Maintaining records and working to departmental and company requirements
Undertake responsibility for microbiological testing and laboratory functions.
Ensure Health & Safety requirements are adhered to
Microbiological testing of raw material and finished products as per Micro Schedule
Monthly Pest control inspections
Support hygiene cleaning systems in the production facility
Trending of micro results
Reporting any NCR result to the QA Technician/Quality Manager
