Description: An independent, accredited testing laboratory requires a Team Leader for their Microbiology Laboratory. Key responsibilities includes: performing microbiological analysis according to procedures within lead time; perform and complete tasks according to the QMS/SANAS requirements within the prescribed deadlines; ensure training records are completed prior to performing analysis and reporting results without supervision; prepare and updating SOPs, verification documents and methods required for accreditation; evaluate QC results as per procedures and report deviations to management; participate in Proficiency Testing Programs; assist with managing department stock levels; leading and driving continuous improvement initiatives in the laboratory; compiling reports; ensure laboratory is clean and neat at all times; record, refer, investigate and report on all customer complaints; provide technical support to clients (i.e. interpretation of results); review, issue and archive COAs and other related documents; provide training for laboratory personal and completing training records; supervise and assist laboratory analysts; providing technical support to laboratory personnel; feedback to management on any matters that may affect the functioning of the department; ad hoc tasks as requested from management.
Key Requirements: ND Biotechnology or BSc Microbiology; 3 years’ experience in an ISO 17025 accredited facility; operating as a technical signatory; good communication skills in English and Afrikaans; sound knowledge of QA/AC, SOP and standard testing protocols.
