Mid Level SEO Marketer - Cape Town

Organizational:
Gather and share insights with different marketing channels
Coordinate on-time delivery of SEO tasks
Lead weekly SEO meetings with marketing and development (Tech) team to align with requirements and execution of tasks
Liaise with marketers on media outreach or content for SEO purposes
Assist technical SEO team with quality control and project sign-off
Coordinate closely with Performance Marketers to develop keyword insights
Work closely with PR Marketers on off-site SEO initiatives and track the impact on KPIs
Align with UX on strategy and execution
Join weekly senior marketing standup
Join weekly hub meetings

Reporting:
Work closely with Business Intelligence (BI) to gather insights and share recommendations
Analyse and report on the impact of SEO and content initiatives on KPIs creating clear action items from insights
Quarterly reports on SEO health per business vertical and domain
Contribute to marketing roadmap
Create monthly marketing reports on SEO & related channels

Functional:
Full ownership of SEO strategy and execution
Ensure documentation of all SEO tests and communicate learnings
Keep track of SEO best practices and search engine algorithm changes and communicate key insights to the team
Work with product and IT to document, execute and analyze SEO improvements
Coordinate closely with Senior Performance Marketer to develop keyword insights
Oversee SEO implementation on all site migrations and projects
Document in marketing playbook and ensure adherence to SEO framework
Execute SEO channel briefs for all planned tests
Work with Heads of Marketing and Offline Managers on SEO strategy to support campaigns
Keep track of SEO best practices and search engine algorithm changes and communicate key insights to the team
Work with product and IT to document, execute and analyze SEO improvements

Key competence and skills:
Marketing, Finance or IT degree
5 years experience in a digital marketing role
2-3 years experience in a relevant SEO field
1-2 year project or team management experience (delegating tasks, administrative tasks, etc)
Strategic marketing SEO experience
Basic programming knowledge (bonus python or shell script knowledge)
Self-starter
Proficient in Excel
Attention to detail
Passion for digital marketing
Technical SEO knowledge
SEO examples of marketing campaigns or websites work on (including basic data from projects)
Knowledge of slack, Trello, and looker is a major plus
