Our client, a leading international Mining Group is looking for a qualified and
experienced Mine Engineer at their facility in Littleton in Colorado in the USA.

Rock Mechanics responsibilities
This position will perform geotechnical evaluations and provide recommendations, both in the underground setting and from drill hole data. Ground support proposals (shotcreting, cable bolting, rehab bolting) and daily ground control issues will be handled in close cooperation with mine operations. This position will work closely with the senior rock mechanic engineer to streamline data gathering, reduction and analysis and will have a lead role in field testing related to rock bolting, shotcreting and blasting practices. Dependent on the candidate’s background, training on site specific geology will be provided.

Ventilation Engineering responsibilities
This position will also assist the site Ventilation Engineer in:
Ventilation planning and audits for stopes
Investigations of flow-through and auxiliary ventilation issues
Auxiliary fan tracking and fan re-pitching

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
BS in Geological or Mine Engineering or equivalent.
Strong computer skills in Excel, Word, and AutoCad.
Leadership qualities including: character, teamwork, communication, business sense and vision
Basic understanding of MSHA regulations.
Proven ability to work within a team based environment.

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
Two to four years underground mine geology or geotechnical experience.
Experience with RS2, UnWedge, Vulcan software package as relates to 3D modelling.
Working knowledge and understanding of narrow vein mine operations.
