Tasks and responsibilities include:

To manage all contract logistics/distribution activities and monitor performance in conformance with company policies and procedures.
Recommend or implement personnel action/s when applicable to ensure effective management within unionised and other legislative frameworks.
Full Profit & Loss responsibility.
To evaluate, reallocate resources, monitor and regulate team member’s performance and workload and provide assistance where and when necessary to ensure optimal efficiency, Approx.200 FTE.
To plan, develop, implement and recommend policies concerning staff and work standard improvements.
To drive the development of new professional Logistics Solutions with existing and new top accounts for the country and ensure implementation of solutions.
Spearhead the continuous improvement of operations towards better efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Lead, implement and monitor the QSHE approach of the country in line with Group guidelines.
Establish and maintain sound customer relationships and ensure the efficient management of relationships through Client Coordinators.
Ensure processes are optimised to drive cost down and customer value created through the companys service offering and productivity management of staff.
Monitor and manage operational performance in terms of SOP’s and KPI’s.
Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews with key customers and provide feedback and corrective action reports to Branch Managers and other stakeholders.
Implement processes and procedures to ensure maximum efficiency, optimize resources, and minimize costs and achievement of service level targets. This would include staff, resources and storage space.
Ensure the relevant SOP is available and applied for each customer to clarify responsibilities within the company; this includes identifying where SOP’s are inadequate and liaising with the Branch Logistics Manager to ensure a relevant SOP and work instruction is developed and implemented.
Ensure work instructions are in place for all processes in the operations process to ensure a smooth workflow off all the different customer’s products in the Facilities.
Deal with the management of discipline, performance and development of all employees in Contract Logistics Operations.
Your skills and experience

Bachelor Degree in Commerce, Logistics & Engineering or equivalent qualification will be a distinct advantage.
Demonstrated ability to analyse a P&L and provide constructive feedback.
Minimum of 7 -10 years' experience in Contract Logistics, Supply chain management in a management role.
Business Knowledge (warehouse layout / implementation, supply chain, information systems, distribution).
Financial management methodology.
Labour legislation knowledge.
Proven ability to secure commercial negotiations and effectively implement contract logistics projects.
Advanced level of computer literacy.
Proven ability to lead a team.
Excellent listening skills
Proven problem solving skills
Ability to communicate positively and credibly.
Ability to solve operational challenges and align with stakeholders
Ability to provide direction and structure to operational teams to align with standard operating procedures and customers specific requirements procedures and customers specific requirements.
Demonstrated ability to project manage continuous improvement projects including system integrations and roll-outs.
Strong customer service orientation.
Knowledge of security and QSHE management.
