Our client, a leader in the development and provision of treatments for moderate to severe pain, requires a National Product Specialist (analgesics) for the State sector They provide a broad range of long-acting analgesic medicines to accommodate the wide-ranging needs of patients and has particular expertise in the development of drug delivery systems, including controlled release technology, that have been successfully applied to a range of analgesics to benefit patients around the world.
A. BROAD PURPOSE OF JOB:
To sell and promote the ethical use of products in accordance with relevant guidelines to general practitioners, specialists, pharmacies, hospitals and other relevant healthcare professionals.
To be accountable for the achievement of overall sales targets, within specified expenditure budgets, within a given, defined territory.

B. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Accountable for monitoring and achieving territory cash sales targets for a specified range of products.
2. Working within, and monitoring of, agreed territory expenditure.
3. Working within the constraints of relevant Code of Practices, Company Policies and Procedures, and demonstrating commitment to the Companies Core values and agreed Key Competencies.
4. Responsible for establishing and maintaining a high knowledge of customer base on territory.
5. Responsible for ensuring a high level of product, disease area and competitor knowledge.
6. Responsible for the provision of regular feedback, following Sales Strategy and Company Procedures.
7. Reporting against Job Description in line with departmental systems.
8. Responsible for interaction with provincial hospitals nationally. This entails contact with relevant departments and depo’s, conducting of training sessions and ensure sufficient stock levels
9. Responsible to cover state and private sector in export markets. This will include OTC and schedule medicines, detailing relevant doctors and specialists, ensuring sufficient stock levels at pharmacies, wholesalers and hospitals
10. Any other task that might reasonably be requested.
CANDIDATES MUST HAVE good relationships with State Hospitals
- It is for State sector Nationally but based in Gauteng
- Will include Botswana State and private, seeing GPs, specialist, pharmacies and wholesalers

Candidates will be required to travel nationally including Botswana, be a self starter and driven to achieve targets.
