Our client, a national FMCG company is looking to employ a National Sales Manager to provide strategic, tactical and operational leadership and direction to the sales organization. The successful candidate will hold national responsibility for a large sales team and national distributors.

Minimum requirements:
• B.Com degree in Business Management, Sales and Marketing or related field.
• Post Graduate degree an advantage
• Minimum 15 years’ experience in key leadership roles within FMCG operations
• Ability to efficient interact at board level
• Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets
• Strong computer literacy
• Ability and willingness to travel within South Africa

Responsibilities will include:
• Planning, leading and implementing sales and marketing plans to meet and exceed sales targets
• Identification of growth areas and ensuring that growth targets are exceeded in line with market development plans
• Setting budgets
• Keeping the sales team focused and motivated to achieve their sales goals
• Some responsibility for major campaigns and price management
• Manages sales performance on daily, monthly, quarterly and annual basis, taking corrective action where required
• Manages the infrastructural and operational cost base effectively ensuring that costs remain within budget
• Develops product expansion plans and develops and implements new product development strategies and plans in line with corporate objectives
• Controls the sales and distributor incentive schemes, discounts and rebate structures
