Overview:
The position of National Manager – Systems is responsible for the execution of the national systems plan. This includes responsibility for the internal systems and the future OSS/BSS development; consolidation of national systems infrastructure and the standardisation and consolidation of national systems for operations, head-office IT, value added services and other support systems.

Job summary:
• Inform the systems strategy and propose national systems & related infrastructure tactics, plans and budgets aligned with the Company strategy of standardisation, consolidation & integration.
• Propose and build a national systems team and competency management & support centre aligned with all internal business customer’s needs.
• Execute the systems tactics as per agreed systems plans.
• Engage with the counterparts in the other divisions and departments to ensure cohesion between all the functions of the business.
• Keep the COO informed of the state of systems through periodic reporting.

Key Performance Areas and Responsibilities:
1. Strategy & Business Plans:
1. Work with the COO and other national executives to translate strategy into tactics and business plans;
2. Break tactics down to fine-level plans for each initiative;
3. Communicate to, educate and focus the systems teams on their respective business plans;
2. Team and Budget:
1. Develop and work with the COO to allocate the appropriate budgets to the initiatives as per the approved business plans;
2. Recruit and structure the national systems teams as required to fulfill the systems plans;
3. Manage the teams towards the execution of plans against budget;
4. Review budgets quarterly and advise and request budget changes where necessary;
3. Operational Systems Management:
1. Oversee the systems management through the appointed systems team leaders;
2. Work with and develop the management skills of the systems team leaders;
3. Liaise with the national executives regularly on the operational systems progress to align expections and focus;
4. Standardisation & Consolidation:
1. Ensure the participation in, and compliance with the Company standardisation and integration project;
2. Discuss & implement the appropriate systems & infrastructure consolidation & standardisation plans with the COO and appropriate internal business customers until all consolidation and standardisation is complete;
3. Discuss & implement a digital strategy, including single signon and identity management.
5. Risk Management
1. Identify systems related risks (security, redundancy, relevancy risk) and discuss with the COO and relevant management;
2. Regularly update the relevant sections of the company risk register;
3. Develop, implement & monitor risk mitigation strategies related to the identified risks;
4. Review the systems risks periodically to keep risk planning current;
6. Reporting:
1. Provide the COO with agreed periodic reporting regarding the state of systems;
2. Instill in each applicable systems team leader the same reporting discipline and help teach them the value of producing and reading those reports to help with good decision making;
7. Culture and Values:
1. Work with HR to instill the culture and values of the business
2. Work with the training department to create a learning culture and execute the group training strategy
8. Performance management:
1. Oversee the appropriate performance management program that is designed to instill the culture of the business and provide managers with feedback from their staff;
