Our client a leader into the Engineering Sector are looking for an Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner to manage and maintain the occupational health service of the company incorporating the holding group

Key AREAS

Conduct medical examination in terms of the COMPANY Policy and requirements.
Provide primary health care service, daily as per COMPANY schedule.
Promotion of health through health education in line with National Health Programme.
Maintain medical records.
Management and treatment of occupational injuries and diseases and any other medical related emergencies.
Management and trending of chronic illness.
Monthly reports on all clinic activities.
Inspections of canteen, toilets and ablution facilities, monthly.
Absenteeism management.
First aid box management.
Infectious disease control.
Be part of the SHE Committees and attend SHE meetings.
Interact with Government Department especially custodians of specific legislation applicable to Company.

Job Requirements

Certificate / Diploma in Occupational Health.
Community Nursing Science or equivalent and registered at SANC.
Qualified in Occupational Health Nursing as well as Primary Health Care with a Dispensing License and a minimum of 3 years’ experience.
At least 1-2 years in a pure risk environment – manufacturing related industry or environment.
Competence and certification in Spyrometry, Audiometry and registered as a Audiometrist at SASOHN.
In depth knowledge of SHE related legislation, e.g. Occupational Health and Safety Act, Act 85 of 1993 especially Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Disease Act – (Act 130 of 1993) management, Medicines & Related Substance Control Act 101 of 1965 and its amendments (1997 and 2002).
HIV/AIDS Management experience and competencies in counseling certification will be advantageous.
